case studiesWe’ve delivered programmes in many offices and hotels, as well as in a chateau in France, on a boat in Brussels, in a museum, in a distillery, around a campfire… and even looking out onto Mount Kilimanjaro!
We’ve had the privilege of transforming organisations and developing leaders around the world.
The testimony of thy good name is a better guard than a sharp sword.

Study 1:-
The Situation
This global automotive manufacturer needed to shift the mindset of their new Vice Presidents from siloed expert managers to leaders of multiple disciplines and more complex problems.
They also needed to bring the group together as a senior leadership team to support each other moving forward and to achieve sustainable growth.
The Solution
A five-day leadership programme, based on the story of The Tempest with its themes of change, stimulated 15 VPs to explore transformational leadership, examine personal leadership styles, identify how their strengths could serve their roles, and address blind spots that may hinder effectiveness.
Additionally, the programme aimed to foster a supportive peer network among the cohort for ongoing mentorship and growth.
The Outcome
The impact of this program was so profound that we now collaborate with them annually to deliver it. Participants lobbied the board to revise policies that were highlighted during the training and felt a deeper connection to the company and their peers – something that was previously lacking. Three VPs who completed the training have become board members.
Study 2:-
The Situation
Our client, an international management consultancy, had a group of high-potential mid-level managers who were on a promotion pathway but lacked the necessary leadership skills to enable them to advance to a more strategic level. Located across the globe, most of these managers had never met in person before. Our client needed them to unite behind shared values, bring them together as a group, and empower them to shape the organisation’s future with purpose. Our key objective was to cultivate authentic, vulnerable leaders and provide them with the necessary skills to enable them to become future fit.
The Solution
Our client already had a Global Training Programme in place, so to maintain organisational consistency we partnered and worked closely with the client’s Talent Development Team on their existing programme. We designed a tailored programme aligned with their organisational needs and objectives using our classic Henry V programme as a framework. This customised programme focused on purpose, authenticity and vision, utilising a mix of storytelling, experiential learning, archetypal psychology and small group coaching to directly address their specific needs. Ten members of our team delivered this two-day session at one of the client’s European centres.
The Outcome
Participants scored the programme 94% overall, and within six months of finishing the programme, all the managers had been promoted to senior leadership roles.
“Hands down the best training I have done so far”
“The coaching was extremely insightful and beneficial”
Study 5:-
The Situation
Leading on major environmental incidents, with 24/7 service, and incidents typically reported every 6 minutes... that’s a huge range of high-pressure activities (28 specific incident types) for a team of 360 people to handle. A team survey reported that the over-riding issues were ‘peaks, more peaks, fewer troughs’, and that the incidents the team were dealing with were getting bigger, more complex, and more frequent. People frequently had to make critical decisions with incomplete information when making no decision was not an option. Post event reviews could be brutal. Fatigue was high, with staff feeling the weight of their jobs at times. All these factors created an environment that was hard to thrive in. The team needed to be able to turn up and feel confident in their decision-making day in, day out whilst also becoming resilient to tough judgments in critical areas. Working in such high-intensity environments builds extremely strong bonds but this can be a double-edged sword as people don’t want to let the team down and, if not carefully managed, this can result in team members running on empty. We needed to help people break that cycle and give insights on how and when to deploy different strategies. To move from survive to thrive. The areas identified where the team needed help were ‘managing ourselves and our relationships’, ‘managing upwards’ and ‘managing in a harsh environment’.
The Solution
We worked very closely with our client to fully understand the pressures that the team were under. There were a lot of discussions about what might be possible given the number of people, how much time they would need to be away from their day-to-day jobs to participate and the real need for change. We designed and delivered a two-part journey to raise awareness and identify everyone’s characteristics. Building from this new awareness, they learned the mechanisms that would help them to take more control of their situations and thrive going forward. The first session looked at leading in challenging times. It took a deep dive into personal styles and how these impacted on themselves and the wider team. It also explored ways of developing the team’s emotional intelligence to unleash motivational abilities, helping with building meaningful and lasting relationships. We included an archetypal approach to bring a deeper understanding of why they were feeling and acting the way they were. After the first programme was completed, the evidence and evaluation gathered shaped and defined the scope of the second bespoke programme. The second session examined the themes of how best to look after ourselves while managing times of high demand and change. It focused on two key archetypes, the Sovereign, from which we asked, “where do I have control and where can I show visible leadership?” and the Nurturer, from which we looked at “how do I best look after myself and others during demanding and changing times”.
The Outcome
That initial programme journey is still being talked about within the organisation and there were requests for the journey to be continued. Following the session an all-staff survey revealed that the programmes had shifted them to see patterns that play out all the time that they had previously not been conscious of.
“If we’re not on our A game situations can quickly implode. Consequences are potentially serious, including loss of life and livelihoods. Working with Olivier Mythodrama helped us to unlock how we can bring our A game, even in the most challenging of circumstances.”
Study 3:-
The Situation
As this global automotive organisation rapidly evolved, an emerging need arose to connect the new generation of employees with the older generation. The employees felt slightly confused about the organisation’s direction and ability to meet upcoming challenges. Bridging the gap between the energetic, forward-thinking newer employees and the more established older employees was necessary to increase engagement. This required aligning all employees with the organisation’s vision and touchpoints while fully engaging teams in the process.
The Solution
We developed a programme that ran for just over two and a half years, centred around our flagship Henry V story and Inspirational Leadership. With clear communication channels and frequent touchpoints, the client was refreshingly open about their pain points, allowing us to tailor the programme to their specific needs. When pitching for this work, we competed against 14 consulting firms from around the world. We remained authentic to our identity and expertise, pledging to ready leaders for the future through forward-thinking leadership.
The Outcome
All programmes delivered consistently received a 98% participant score. We enabled an increased return on investment, higher staff retention and boosted sales by 18%. We continue to work with this organisation and maintain contact with some of the participants from the initial programme rollout. Since then, we have expanded our programme delivery to Dubai, the UK, the US and Canada.
Study 4:-
The Situation
Richard Olivier was speaking at a conference in Europe and delivering part of our Henry V programme when an attendee had a transformative experience. Two years later, we received a call from their PA who said, “What did you do to our CEO?” The CEO had been profoundly affected by Richard’s delivery and felt compelled to change his company’s harmful mining practices. He needed a way to identify what his company was doing and do something about it. After hearing the phrase “Turning the Battlefield into a Garden”, a metaphor used in the story, he was inspired to re-evaluate his company’s environmental impact and make positive changes.
The Solution
Initially, we worked with the company’s top 100 executives in Europe who served on the board. We divided them into groups of 25 and delivered a three-day programme to each group. The 100 executives were a diverse group, including engineers and leaders. The CEO pitched his vision of making the company environmentally sustainable – an ambitious dream that initially seemed impossible, but one he felt was the right thing to pursue.
The Outcome
In just five years, the company’s transformation from environmentally damaging mining practices was remarkable. After implementing the programme, the company had sold off or ceased all mining that harmed the environment. Recycling became their most profitable division, their share price rose sharply, and staff retention reached an all-time high. We returned to deliver a programme on influential leadership, based on our Julius Caesar programme.
